  • What exactly does an archivist do?

    Short answer: noun
    a person responsible for preserving, organizing, or servicing archival material.

    Long answer: All Things Awesome
    If you cross a librarian with a museum curator you get an archivist. We catalog, provide research assistance, enter metadata and keep our collections in order (just like librarians). Like curators, archivists will often hold exhibitions of their collections and exhibits can go on loan or travel. The archivist manages all of this.
